The Casa Coll i Reg\u00e0s, emblematic building<\/h2>\n

The Casa Coll i Reg\u00e0s<\/a> <\/strong>is a modernist building in Matar\u00f3<\/a>, designed by the Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch in 1898 on behalf of Joaquim Coll i Reg\u00e0s<\/strong>, an important textile manufacturer in Matar\u00f3. The Coll i Reg\u00e0s House was declared in 2000 a Cultural Asset of National Interest, as a historical monument.<\/p>\n

Its history dates back to May 12th<\/strong>, 1897, when Pere Comas, a bricklayer, requested permission from the Matar\u00f3 City Council to completely renovate houses no. 55 and 57 of Calle de Argentona, two houses that Joaquim Coll i Reg\u00e0s had acquired the previous year. Rather than renovating, its consisted of the demolition of both houses and the construction of a new building. The curious thing about the subject is that the project plans were signed by the architect Antoni Galliss\u00e0 (Barcelona, 1861-1903), despite the fact that the designer was Puig i Cadafalch.<\/p>\n

The project includes<\/strong> a building over four floors, basement, ground floor, first floor and lofts. The plans of the project include the fa\u00e7ade, a diagram of the section and the ground and first floors; neither the basement floor nor the attic floor plan are listed. The planning followed the tradition of the residential buildings of the urban bourgeoisie of Matar\u00f3, and in this sense it is the only one built in the city in modernist times.<\/p>\n

Currently, you can visit Casa Coll i Reg\u00e0s<\/strong>. There are guided tours (from Thursday to Sunday), family workshop-visits (first Sunday of every month), modernist tastings where modernist architectural culture merges with food and wine. A visit with modernist vermouth included, and even an Escape Room \u201cThe Mystery of casa Coll i Reg\u00e0s\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Casa Coll i Reg\u00e0s can also be rented to organize evening events, weddings, films or private events in a modernist space.<\/p>\n
