Between November 12 and 21, 2,000 players from 50 countries will gather in Santa Susanna (Maresme<\/a>)<\/strong> to participate in the 2021 Petanque World Championship. Along nine days this town expects to host more than 6,000 visitors attracted by a tournament that, for the first time, it brings together the three categories of this sport (senior men’s triples, senior women’s triples and youth triples).<\/p>\n

This town of Maresme<\/a><\/strong> was chosen as the venue for the championship to replace the candidacies of Lausanne (Switzerland) and Ayutthaya (Thailand) that had to suspend their championships due to the Covid19 pandemic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Petanque is a sport with many loyal fans interested in the competition who will be able to enjoy it through the LaLigaSports platform where an approximate audience of more than one million spectators around the world is expected.<\/p>\n

Joan Campolier, mayor of the municipality, explained in the presentation of the championship that the town of Santa Susanna \u201cis prepared to receive international competitions like this one, since we have the facilities, the resources, the desire and the will to be known as a municipality that he works for sports and for the quality of life \u201d.<\/p>\n
