{"id":14630,"date":"2022-03-02T16:55:08","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T16:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/?p=14630"},"modified":"2023-07-21T20:11:15","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T20:11:15","slug":"quesos-artesanos-made-in-maresme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/en\/quesos-artesanos-made-in-maresme\/","title":{"rendered":"Artisan cheeses made in Maresme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>When we talk about kilometer 0 <a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/en\/delicias-del-mar-montana-productos-del-maresme\/\">products<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/_en\/\">Maresme region<\/a>, products such as Llavaneras peas, strawberries, Arenys prawns, DO Alella wine come to mind&#8230; but did you know that in our region we can find artisan cheeses of great quality and excellence?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Catalonia we have more than 250 varieties of cheese and in our region <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/_en\/\">Maresme<\/a>, we can find five small cheese producers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Well, if you are in love with cheese, we invite you to come and discover our region and this gastronomic product with <strong>a route through the <a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/_en\/\">Maresme<\/a> cheese dairies.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>We start in <a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/_en\/Vilassar_de_Dalt\/\">Vilassar de Dalt<\/a> where two of the cheese factories of our route are located.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first, <strong>Quesos Artefor<\/strong>, is a very small and young cheese factory created in 2011 by Jordi Arroyo and David Morera, who are committed to making, in a traditional way but with a totally innovative touch and work, cheeses with a creamy texture from sheep&#8217;s milk and goats from the Pyrenees, unusual cheeses in Catalonia.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, they make four varieties, two from sheep&#8217;s milk (the Forcat, with an intense flavour, and the Rodonet d&#8217;Ovella, the newest of the family) and two from goat&#8217;s milk (the Goat Lingot, fine and delicate, and the Rodonet de Cabra, washed with sea water).<\/p>\n<p>Even though it is a young cheese factory, <strong>it has already received several Awards such as the Lactium fair in Vic, the World Cheese Awards or the National Cheese Contest in Madrid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14635\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14635\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-14635 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Artefor_03-ff-scaled-e1646224348122-1024x635.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Artefor_03-ff-scaled-e1646224348122-1024x635.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Artefor_03-ff-scaled-e1646224348122-300x186.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Artefor_03-ff-scaled-e1646224348122-768x476.jpg 768w, https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Artefor_03-ff-scaled-e1646224348122-1536x952.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Artefor_03-ff-scaled-e1646224348122-2048x1269.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14635\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Quesos Artefor, de textura cremosa a partir de leche de ovejas y cabras del Pirineo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We are going to discover <strong>another cheese factory in <a href=\"https:\/\/bestmaresme.com\/_en\/Vilassar_de_Dalt\/\">Vilassar de Dalt<\/a><\/strong> that began its activity in 1980, Quesos Pujol. With a long history, it is a highly recognized and appreciated cheese factory by the habitants of Maresme and by gastronomes from all over the world. A small family business that makes cheeses in an artisanal way, with goat, sheep and cow milk, from a farm in Montseny. Among its fifteen varieties of cheese we find cured, semi-cured, soft, raw milk, aromatic or cream cheese, among others.
