The coastline offers 55 medium and coarse golden sand beaches, supplying 37 kilometres of seafront. We have from large sandy beaches to rocky coves with an average width of approximately 55 metres. The capital of the Maresme is Matar\u00f3, with around 125,000 inhabitants.
