The night of Sant Joan, the shortest of the year, stretches in the Maresme<\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Sant John night is an unequivocal sign of the summer arrival.<\/p>\n

Sweet desserts “Cocas”, firecrackers, bonfires … a night with a very special flavor. All the towns of Maresme<\/a> celebrate this night of Sant Joan with music, dance and good humor, especially Vilassar de Mar, which, from June 21 to 25, celebrates its main festival.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Traditional acts such as “correfocs”, sardanas, concerts, “gegants”, or children’s activities, are complemented by the Fira d’Americans<\/strong>. The fair includes a route through the architectural and historical heritage<\/strong> and also the market of overseas products<\/strong> with coffee, rum and chocolate or the Cuban gastronomy route.<\/p>\n

Vilassar de Mar<\/a> is a town with a great seafaring tradition that lived intensely the arrival to the Americas thanks to its proximity to the sea.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One of the legacies of the outstanding marine tradition<\/strong> and Vilassar de Mar can be found in the Navy Museum. In the names of some streets we also observe the Indian heritage, such as Cuba Street, Montevideo … or in outstanding buildings of the population.<\/p>\n
