MUSICAB Festival 2026 in Cabrils!

MUSICAB is back for another year!

The municipality of Cabrils will offer its 38th edition of the MUSICAB music festival on July 17, 18 and 19, 2026.

MUSICAB is the renowned summer music festival held in Cabrils (Maresme, Barcelona) every year over a weekend in July. Its origins date back to 1989, when it debuted as the Cabrils International Music Festival, promoted by the Societat La Concòrdia and supported by the City Council.

Initially conceived as a festival focused on classical music, over the years it has evolved into a much more open and diverse program. As a result, the festival has gained prestige and attendance. Despite this evolution, MUSICAB has remained true to its core values, continuing to offer an intimate experience with limited seating, a natural setting, and a carefully curated program.

The keys to their success are:

  • A varied and high-quality program: Currently, it brings together concerts of jazz, pop, flamenco, singer-songwriter music, indie, soul, rock, reggae and other styles, in addition to maintaining a commitment to artistic quality, by combining established artists with prominent names from the Catalan independent scene.
  • An excellent setting: The main stage is Can Barba, an old farmhouse surrounded by nature, offering a very special atmosphere for the evening concerts. Performances are also scheduled in other venues around the town, such as the Centre Cívic La Fàbrica or Mas Maria, depending on the year.
  • A small-format festival: It takes place over a weekend in mid-July, with a concentrated program that combines concerts for adult audiences and family-friendly offerings.

The most important events included in this year’s program are:

FRIDAY, JULY 17

    • The festival kicks off with the Barcelona Big Blues Band, one of Catalonia’s most renowned blues groups. Their repertoire blends classic blues, swing, and rhythm & blues with a powerful horn section, in a concert designed to open the festival with a high-energy performance.

SATURDAY, JULY 18

    • Mishima, a leading figure in Catalan indie pop-rock, will present a repertoire that combines classics from their career with songs from their most recent work.
    • They will share the stage with Maika Makovski, one of the most versatile artists on the national scene, known for her blend of alternative rock, folk, and a highly energetic stage presence. The combination of these two acts makes this day the festival’s main attraction.

SUNDAY, JULY 19

NOON:

    • Family concert at the Centre Cívic La Fàbrica with El Pony Menut. This event is aimed at children and families, continuing MUSICAB’s tradition of including an activity for all ages.

EVENING:

    • The festival’s closing act will feature Standstill, one of the most influential bands in Barcelona’s alternative rock scene, whose return to the stage has generated great interest among their fans.
    • The evening will open with Remei de Ca la Fresca, an emerging group from the Catalan music scene that blends rock, folk, and a distinctive lyrical style. This combination of a long-established band and a new project perfectly encapsulates MUSICAB’s philosophy of uniting established acts with fresh talent.

Overall, the 2026 edition clearly focuses on contemporary Catalan music and independent rock, with a balance between established artists (Mishima, Standstill, Maika Makovski), a top-notch specialist group (Barcelona Big Blues Band), an emerging band (Remei de Ca la Fresca), and a family-friendly act (El Pony Menut). Furthermore, the festival maintains its intimate format, with concerts at Can Barba and a food area open before the evening performances.

Music, gastronomy and cultural heritage will come together in the middle of summer so that everyone can enjoy a festival that seeks to become a benchmark in the Baix Maresme!
