The coast of the Maresme was known as the tower coast because of the great number of watchtowers in existence.
They were intented as defensive towers and were usually part of a fortified or strategic defense system, intercommunicated by signal fires or smoke signs
The lighthouse is located on a hill top 50 meters high, started up in 1859. Being the lamp lit initially by oil till 1927 when it changed to electricity.
Bricbarca is a non-profit cultural association working to recuperate and promote maritime culture. A lateen sailing boat currently used for excursions and nautical workshops.
