The shortest night of the year, when the Sant Joan Festival is celebrated, lasts longer in Maresme!
This date marks a tradition long linked to the summer solstice. Meeting up with family and friends, eating delicious coca de Sant Joan (a traditional Catalan flatbread), gathering around bonfires, enjoying the fireworks… In short, it’s a night with a special flavor. All the towns of the Maresme region celebrate with music, dancing, and good cheer. Vilassar de Mar, in particular, celebrates its main festival in honor of Saint John the Baptist from June 19 to 25.

The Sant Joan Festival in Vilassar de Mar is one of the most emblematic and defining celebrations of the Maresme region, with cultural activities, concerts, parades, fireworks, popular traditions and family events spread throughout the town.
Highlights of the program:
-
- Sant Joan Festival (June 23) with concerts and DJ sets. This year there are performances by Las Que Faltaband and Tapeo Sound System in the courtyard of the Pérez Sala, in addition to other concerts in different venues throughout the municipality.
- Concert and dance with the copla La Principal de la Bisbal on June 24.
- ‘Correfocs’, parades, ‘gegants’, ‘castellers’, popular dinners and children’s activities, which are part of the regular program of the festival.
- Amusement fair, installed between the Xevi Ramon municipal stadium and La Bòbila.
- ‘Fira de Mar’ on June 24, with stalls selling seafood, crafts and local trade.
