The charming town of Teià, in the Maresme region of Barcelona, takes full advantage of its unique Mediterranean climate, making the cultivation of flowers, ornamental plants, and vineyards a true way of life. This, combined with the stunning beauty of its surroundings, has attracted perfume and cosmetics companies, as well as many artists and creators in the sector.
The Teià spring festival “El Maridaje De Los Sentidos” (The Pairing of the Senses) is celebrating its 9th edition this year, featuring a comprehensive program of activities focused on ethnobotany and forgotten plants. Parc de Can Godó will once again be the main venue, offering a range of activities including family workshops, talks, performances, live music, and children’s events.
As every year, the event will feature master craftsmen, who this time will be present within the park itself, as well as the already famous theatrical tours that captivate the public year after year.
In addition, perfume will also play a major role, especially patchouli: an aromatic tropical plant that will invite us to test our sense of smell and participate in the voting for the best perfume made with its essences.
Finally, this year’s edition has special significance, as it marks the 30th anniversary of the «puntaires» of Teià (the lacemakers). Attendees will be able to enjoy their bobbin lace art, featuring floral and ornamental motifs, as well as the exhibition at the CMC La Unió, which will showcase decades of work and the preservation of a historic Catalan tradition.
