The Three Wise Men Parade 2025!

As every year, the Three Wise Men Parade reaches all the towns in Spain, an event during which Their Majesties of the East Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar, accompanied by their faithful pages and assistants, will greet and throw sweets and candy to all the boys and girls on the eve of the Epiphany.

As is well known, the Parade is celebrated every year on January 5th at dusk, following tradition, before the Three Wise Men leave the gifts in the houses during the night. Legend has it that it was during the night when Their Majesties visited Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby Jesus in the manger of Bethlehem, bringing gifts of gold, incense and myrrh.

Here are some of the many activities that will take place throughout the municipalities of Maresme on this very special day:

 

MATARÓ:

In Mataró, the big week begins with the Royal Camp, located in the Parc Central, where children can deliver their letters to the Royal Messengers while enjoying spectacular decorations and activities related to the Parade.

Schedule:

    • January 1: from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
    • January 2, 3 and 4: from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Also, from January 2 to 4, the Royal Postmen will travel to various points in the city to ensure that no child is left without delivering their letter, as well as handing out candy.

And finally, the long-awaited moment will arrive on January 5 at 12:00 p.m., with the arrival of Their Majesties at the Port of Mataró. With the help of Tempus, Tic-Tac and the new addition, Polaris (which symbolises the light of Christmas), the llaut Sant Ramon will guide the Kings to the mooring point. There, they will greet the children and receive the key to the city from the mayor, a highly anticipated moment that will give way to the Parade that will begin at 5:00 p.m. and follow the following route:

    • Plaza de Josep Cusachs
    • Plaza de España
    • Avenida de la Gatassa
    • Ronda de Francesc Macià
    • Plaza de Santa Anna
    • La Riera
    • Plaza del Ayuntamiento (arrival expected around 9:00 p.m.)

Once in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Their Majesties will address the public from the town hall balcony, closing a day full of emotions.

PREMIÀ DE DALT:

In Premià de Dalt, the Three Kings’ Parade will have a new route, and Their Majesties will pass through more streets of the town to delight both adults and children.

The parade of the eagerly awaited Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will start at 5:00 p.m. with the following route:

    • Via Primilia, Can Maresme crossing, Santa Anna torrent and Les Flors roundabout.
    • Vilassar de Dalt road, Penedès street, Bòbila torrent, Enlace road.
    • Six Towns road, Premià de Mar road.
    • Six Towns road, Castells torrent, Sant Pere avenue, Sant Jaume street, Guillem Tell, Torras i Bages, Balmes and Jaume I.
    • Ciudad de Olot street, Josep Carner, Can Malagrida, La Teta, Riera de Sant Pere and Plaza de la Vila.

Once Their Majesties arrive at Plaça de la Vila, and after greeting the children, they will move on to the Parish of Sant Pere. Afterwards, the distribution of the first gift of the Night of Kings to all the girls and boys will begin.

CABRILS:

Next Sunday, January 5, Their Majesties will also visit Cabrils and collect all the letters from boys and girls at the door of the La Fàbrica Civic Centre, where the royal mailboxes will be located.

At 6:00 p.m. the 2025 parade will start from the L’Olivera school through the streets of the town. Once the route is finished, the traditional grand welcome will take place at the Porxada of the L’Olivera school, led by the astrologer PRUNA and the mayor of Cabrils. Immediately afterwards, the delivery of letters to Their Majesties will begin.

CABRERA DE MAR:

On Saturday 4th January, the Journey to the Magical World of the Kings will once again offer an experience for the entire town of Cabrera de Mar, with a magical tour to discover the journey and preparations of Their Majesties for the most magical night of the year.

The celebration will culminate with the Three Kings’ Parade on 5th January, where young and old will have the opportunity to welcome the long-awaited Three Wise Men once again, a tradition that returns to the town with renewed enthusiasm. The procession will leave at 5:00 pm from the Plaça de l’Eglésia and will end its route in Cal Conde.

ARGENTONA:

Their Majesties will arrive in Argentona on January 5th at 6:00 p.m. and will make the traditional route through the streets of the town. The procession will start in Sant Sebastià Street and continue along Gran Street, Plaça Nova, Jacint Verdaguer Street, Nostra Senyora de Montserrat Avenue, Vilassar Road, Puig i Cadafalch Avenue and finally Plaça Nova.

From the municipal theater La Sala, Their Majesties will receive the key to the town from the hands of the mayor and will briefly address all the children.

VILASSAR DE MAR:

On Sunday 5th January at 5.30pm, Their Majesties will arrive in Vilassar de Mar on what will be the most magical night of the year. The route of the procession will be as follows: Els Garrofers Industrial Estate, Montevideo Avenue, Narcís Monturiol, Cabrils Road, Santa María, Octaviana Road, María Vidal, Sant Genís, Cabrils Road, Montserrat, Sant Josep, Mare Catalina Coromina, Riera d’en Cintet, Colom, Sant Joan, Plaça de l’Eglésia, Sant Joan and Plaça de l’Ajuntament (arrival approx. 8.15pm). The letters will be handed over to the Three Wise Men in the Town Hall Square.

SANT VICENÇ DE MONTALT:

Their Majesties from the East will arrive on Sunday 5th January in Sant Vicenç de Montalt, laden with gifts. They will do so in carriages and accompanied by their pages and royal postmen who will help them distribute gluten-free sweets and collect letters from all the boys and girls.

The Royal Parade will begin its journey at 6:00 p.m. from the Camino del Padrón to Plaça de l’Esgésia, where they will arrive around 7:00 p.m. after making the traditional offering to the baby Jesus in the church.

Gaspar, Melchor and Baltasar will be received by the mayor of the municipality in the tent, and children who wish to can greet them and give them their letters.

Route of the Parade: Camino del Padrón, Passeig dels Pins, Montseny, Montnegre, Pica d’Estats, Costa Daurada, Mediterrani, Av. Montaltnou, Ginesta, Riera del Gorg, Av. Països Catalans, Major, Sant Antoni and arrival at Plaça de l’Eglésia.

SANT ANDREU DE LLAVANERES:

Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will parade through the streets of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres in the traditional Three Kings’ Parade. This year, as a novelty, there will be a quiet area, where visual and auditory stimuli will be reduced to encourage people with sensory hypersensitivity or functional diversity to enjoy the passage of the floats and the Kings. It will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 6:40 p.m., leaving from Av. Pau Casals. The Parade will be organized by the City Council itself with the support of the Three Kings’ Parade Commission.

CALDES D’ESTRAC:

Also on Sunday 5th January from 6pm, the procession that will accompany Their Majesties the Three Wise Men through the streets of Caldes d’Estrac until reaching Plaça de la Vila, where they will be officially received, is expected to arrive.

At 6pm the royal procession will begin, leaving from the roundabout of the Pizzeria Estrac, continuing along Calle de la Estación, Calle del Callao and Riera fina in Plaça de la Vila.
Next, in the Cultural Hall of the Caldes d’Estrac Town Hall, there will be the Royal Camp, where children will be able to directly deliver their letters full of wishes to Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, as well as spend a short time with Their Majesties from the East.

ARENYS DE MAR:

Also on Sunday 5th January in the evening the Three Wise Men will arrive in the town of Arenys de Mar. Their Majesties will begin their journey at the top of the Riera, at the height of Montalt Street at 6pm, and will go down to Perera Street, where the Kings will get out of their carriage and finish their journey on foot to the Town Hall Square. There they will greet the authorities and, from the balcony, they will greet all the children who are gathered in the square. Next, they will collect the letters that the children have written to them in the tent set up in the Town Hall Square.
