According to The Wealth Report 2018, which is carried out annually by Knight Frank, real estate consultant, in the year 2017, the number of people with a fortune of more than 50 million dollars, considered Uhnwi (Ultra High Networth Income), grew in 10% on the entire planet.
The Wealth Report 2018 points to New York as the leader in the wealth index of the whole world, overtaking London in the first position. In fact, a third of the Ultra-Americans live in North America.
he third, fourth and fifth positions correspond to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago, respectively. Madrid occupies the twentieth position for wealth this year, but stands out, as well as Barcelona, for entering the top of the cities where the luxury market grows the most.
If something good has to grow the number of great fortunes is that many will choose Barcelona to acquire a second home.
According to the same annual report, over the next five years billionaires with assets above five million dollars, will grow by 43% (last year, increased by 9%, up to 2.5 million people). Those with net assets equivalent to or greater than 50 million will do so by 40%, and those with more than 500 million dollars will increase by 39% (today there are 6,900 worldwide, 11% more than the previous year).
