The annual spending of luxury travelers exceeds € 3,500, almost three times more than the usual visitor

According to a study carried out by Condé Nast Johansens, Barcelona is the second favorite destination for luxury tourism worldwide, behind New York, among its nearly 725 users of destination and hotel guides.

The cities of Barcelona and New York are at the forefront of the preferences of tourists having high purchasing power, who also express their desire to visit European destinations such as Paris, Venice, Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, Vienna, Dublin and Copenhagen. .

The average annual spending of the luxury traveler ranges from € 3,500 to € 6,500 per person, a figure much higher than the average annual cost of the regular traveler who visits Spain, which is around € 1,000

The type of room is essential for the luxury traveler, according to the percentage surveyed they declare preference for the best suite room.

When asked what type of accommodation they value when choosing their holidays in the next few years, they respond: 76% to a luxury cruise, 73% to a luxury hotel and 70% to a hotel chain.

83% of the travelers who follow the guides of destinations and luxury hotels have an average annual income of approximately € 128,000 and make an average between one and four trips a year, between long-stay trips, trips of less duration and short breaks weekend.
