Fountains and Viewpoints route of Teia

Bestmaresme propose an excursion through the Serralada Marina, which will take us to visit fountains, viewpoints, old farmhouses and, above all, enjoy nature and the spectacular views of the sea, Maresme coast and Barcelona.

We start our route from the Teia municipal car park, Sebastià Dalmau, located next to the riera.

We started to climb the riera, passing by the Cambray Restaurant. This restaurant is a 19th century colonial house, one of the most representative buildings in Teia, from where you can enjoy views of the Ferreria refuge, Sant Mateu and the sea.

Shortly after the restaurant, we will turn right to follow the Torrent del Molí path that will take us to the first fountain that we will find on our excursion, La Font del Senglar, whose nozzle is shaped like the animal that its name is. We return to the path to go to the next fountain, La Font del Grill. This fountain has the peculiarity that when you pump the crank, apart from making the water come out, it makes the legs of the cricket move.

At the next crossroads, on the main road, we turn left to go to the Sagrat Cor viewpoint where a replica of the Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro looks directly at the Teia church. Here we can enjoy panoramic views.

We return to the main path to the Font de les Perdius which, like the other fountains that we can visit, has the nozzle with the name that it gives to it.

In a few minutes we arrived at the Refugi de la Ferreria del Vedat. In this place, there was a quarry from where the stones for many modernist buildings in Barcelona were extracted. Our next stop is the Ajupits fountain. Here the water spout is a frog.

We head for Sant Mateu, a green space, with trees and horses. A very nice place to rest and visit the hermitage.

We begin to go down the path next to the hermitage until we reach an esplanade to go to the hill, Torre de Guaita and the Baldiri viewpoint. It is worth going to the viewpoint since, thanks to its location, we can enjoy impressive views of the Barcelona coastline and the Maresme.

On the way down to the town of Teia, we can see different Catalan farmhouses, one of the largest being Can Gurguí Gros, which used to be a restaurant but is currently closed. We continue the descent until we reach the Teia riera.

A route with good views, fountains, hermitages, old farmhouses… We hope you like it and enjoy this excursion from Teia.
