Mataró, the most natural in Maresme

From May 22nd to June 6th Mataró celebrates the 4th edition of Nature week with more than 30 activities that allow you to connect with the environment.

Highlights the “Mataró Floreix” organized by the Sempervirens Association.

From May 29th and June 6th, locals and visitors will have a tour through 11 spaces decorated by the participants and entities that participate out of the contest. Gardeners, florists, environmental associations, landscapers, professional schools, local entities, among others.

Among other activities, offers guided visits to organic farms, others specialized in medicinal plants, orchards or to the municipal garden center; walks to discover spaces such as the Cinco Norias and Mata, a walk through the Central Park to discover the medicinal plants that there are and a guided visit to the Mediterranean garden of Can Boet with the elaboration of an aromatic sack. People are also invited to participate in the planting of seasonal flowers in the Gardening of Public Spaces section of the Mataró City Council.

The commercial sector will also be involved in the Setmana de la Natura with actions such as the flower shop window contest organized by the Mataró Business Company or a raffle for plant and flower products aimed at customers of the stores associated with the Plaza Market. Saturday May 29th

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. An activity to observe butterflies at Pla de Capellans (Mataró). Meeting place: Ronda Països Catalans / Riera de la Figuera Major. Free activity, with prior registration at 937 412 930 (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) or at educacultura@ajmataro.cat. Limited to 20 people.

Saturday June 5th

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guided walk through the Central Park. “Trees, it’s a world’s link!”. Virtual or face-to-face session depending on the Covidien-19 situation. Registration, or by phone 937955405 (School of Nature of the Corridor). Once registered, people will receive an email with the link to access the virtual session (Zoom platform) or with the pertinent instructions to do so in-person.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Papallones a les Cinc Sènies”. Five Sènies. Meeting place: Antoni Comas Library. With reservation of invitations. Activity with the European Day of Parks. Observation, discovery and enjoyment with the butterflies of the Cinc Sènies and relationships with the environment, guided by an expert from the School of Nature of the Corridor. General public and families.

This edition of the Setmana de la Natura is coordinated by the Direction of Economic Promotion of the Mataró city council and with the participation of other city council services, entities and commercial associations.

The health, social and economic crisis highlights the direct relationship of people’s health with their environment, which is why the Setmana de la Natura in Mataró wants to make visible the importance of the natural environment.
