A nautical reference in the Maresme closes its doors

Nautical Club of Cabrera de Mar closes its doors definitively before December 31, 2019 – according to the resolution issued by the Demarcation of Costs of the State since it does not have the administrative concession since 1987 and the inability for the center to adapt to current regulations

 

Cabrera Nautical Club has more than half a century promoting the practice of water sports such as dinghy sailing and a fleet of skates with sailing of recognized notoriety.

Born in 1966, after a meeting between friends practicing light sailing and fishing with the aim of creating a society dedicated to the practice of nautical sports activities.

The club was inaugurated on June 24 of the same year, under the presidency of Jaume Sala Arnó.

Located in the town of Cabrera de Mar, Maresme

Cabrera de Mar is a town of Maresme, located 28 km from Barcelona, ​​between Vilassar de Mar and Mataró. The Urban nucleus is 2.5 km from the sea, in a small valley between the mountains of Burriac, where the Castle is located with this same name, and Montcabré. Cabrera de Mar also borders Cabrils and Argentona.

 

Demarcation of Costs, has imposed to the establishment an order of immediate closure if it can not adapt to the current regulations, which among others limits to 300 m2 the nautical facilities on the Catalan beaches. The club from Cabrera, with only the building that has been built and the annexes for light sailing, already exceeds 3,000 m2.

Cabrera de Mar council, has agreed with the Generalitat, so they can continue with the use of nautical school, some prefabricated modules during the months of April to October. Meanwhile the current building will be bricked up.

 

This also affects the restaurant Be Water, located in the facilities of the Club. Located at the foot of the beach where you can taste gastronomic, original dishes, live performances …
